Decision Engineering (DECIS) Joins the Lisam Group!

Founded in 1992 as a spin-off from the Université libre de Bruxelles by Professors Philippe Vincke and Marc Pirlot, along with Pierre Jacques, DECIS initially focused on a variety of optimization studies in collaboration with researchers and doctoral students from the mathematics department.

Soon joined by Denis Dresse and Emmanuel Van Rossum, the company gradually broke away from its academic roots to focus on developing solutions for businesses, before specializing, in the 2000s, in scheduling software and digital mapping.

The acquirer, the Lisam Group, is a Belgian company with an international presence, recognized for its regulatory and compliance management software as well as its cloud solutions. The group notably owns Hemmis, which develops specialized software; Dinec International and Dinec Assembly, specialists in access control systems and electronic assembly; and Megabytes, an IT company active in management software, infrastructure, security, and consulting.

Lisam thus recognized Decis’s growth potential, which can be further amplified through the group’s support and synergies with its subsidiaries.

Denis and Emmanuel will remain active following the sale to ensure a smooth transition and guarantee continuity for clients and teams.
